Learning Goal: I’m working on a management discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Read Example 2 and explain your take away. Add additional information. Your document should include minimum 150 words plus credible references.

Example 2:

Working in software implementations and deployments I find myself in a variety of roles analyzing the business processes of software in several different ways, dependent upon the importance of the project and the other members of the project team.

First, on smaller software deployments I will often find myself taking on the role of a team leader or head analyst on a project. Under this role I will be the main facilitator in demonstrating, comparing, and understanding the business processes behind competing software platforms. From an information technology perspective, the business analyst is highly important because this person understands both the backend technology as well as the front end business processes that each software platform brings to the table. Additionally, these platforms are predominantly created so that end-users can facilitate their own processes and not have to work directly with an analyst at all times.

Second, in a more technology-focused analyst role, I find myself working in testing products and simulating business practices in a closed environment to ensure a working platform for our organization. This is somewhat of an intermediary role, as I am creating the technological bridge between business-focused end users and technology-focused business analysts. While this is less a leadership role and more of an IT role, I find it equally as important as an analyst needs to be first to demo a product in order to see if it is viable for your organization.
