Prompt: For purposes of this assignment I would like you to assume you are in a leadership position for a Hospital and have been asked to create a new committee that would focus solely on legal issues—namely, a committee where key employees gather periodically to discuss how to reduce any and all types of legal issues that could affect the organization. Based on what you have learned this semester, how would you go about setting up this committee? Explain what you think could or should be done to minimize legal risk. What changes would you make? How would you assess the value\importance of your selected activities?
Comment: The prompt for Reflection #3 is intentionally broad and vague to allow each student the opportunity comment and reflect on the item of your choosing.
Rubric: The assigned rubric asks that you prepare a well thought through perspective with supporting details to class materials. It should be well organized and thoughtful, logical and complete. EXPLAIN YOUR REASONING.
Some possible approaches: This is not an exhaustive list but some ideas for you to consider are: ” Who would I want on this committee?” “Any non management employees I would want?” “what are the key issues to address?” “what issues would I NOT have the committee address?” “How would you determine if the committee was successful?” Your only limitation is that you should be focusing on issues that we have explored in class.
Things NOT to do: There is no need to do any independent research and I am specifically requesting that you do none. Instead, focus on our class materials (Lecture, PPTs, assigned readings, videos) and refer to them in your essay.
