Give an example of either Inductive or Deductive reasoning. Try to use a “real world” example of something you might have encountered or found on the internet. Here is my example … One of the most famous sequences of numbers is the Fibonacci sequence. These numbers are often used in the analysis of stock market trends as analysts like to use the moving averages with the same time scales and use ratios of these numbers to assess uptrends and downtrends in stock prices. The sequence is: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55 … + more. Using INDUCTIVE reasoning we can see that the sequence is based on the sum of the two previous numbers, starting with 1 and 1 at the beginning. One of the remarkable characteristics of this numerical sequence is that each number is approximately 1.618 times greater than the preceding number.
Deductive reasoning makes it possible for an individual to move from generalizations to coming up with specific about a given situation. Reasoning only becomes valid depending on the truth of the premises. Deductive reasoning is that where the classical reasoning pattern of A=B then B=C and as a result A=C is used……………………
