Since the eighteenth century the forces of globalism have significantly helped and/or hindered the position, power, and status of women across the world. Select two global regions [Americas, Asia, Africa, Europe or the Middle East] and write an essay supported by specific examples and evidence comparing and contrasting how increased global connections and new technologies have altered traditional hierarchies and stirred women’s demands for greater independence. How did globalism open doors for some women but at the same time hold others back? Does the ‘Woman Question’ still exist in the 21st century? What are the greatest global obstacles collectively facing women today?
