Before entering the classroom, teachers must address their own identities and how their identities have affected and influenced their approaches and attitudes toward learning and education. The goal of this activity is to discover more about yourself as you learn to be responsive to and value the identities and affinities of you future students. Fundamental to becoming a teacher and developing your own educational philosophy is the ability to understand yourself and your own identity.

You will create a movie (Kizoa, Animoto, Kaltura, etc) or a PowerPoint presentation that addresses your identity and how it has affected and influenced your approaches and attitudes toward your own learning and education. This activity will inform you in understanding your own identity more fully to assist you in responding to your future students from diverse backgrounds.
