In a MLA 9 style paper, You are to choose an object that is important to you. You will describe this object in the essay. Be sure to describe more than just the obvious: what does it feel like, smell like, sound like, make you feel like, why is it important to you, etc. You may not use cellular phones, people, or animals as the topic of your essay. Your essay is to be at least five paragraphs long, but keep it relatively short. Submitting 1800 words will not improve your grade. Just be sure your essay is fully-developed. Italicize the thesis statement for the essay, and then underline each topic sentence for each paragraph you write. Concentrate on planning your essay well before beginning. I want to see evidence that you have completed comprehensive prewriting activities, though you do not need to submit this. It will be evident in your essay’s quality. You do not need to submit a rough draft, only a finished final draft that will be typed in appropriate MLA format. Be sure the file is submitted ONLY as a WORD document! This is not an extensive paper. This is a short five-paragraph (or slightly more) essay. Your focus should be good composition skills. I want to know that you can formulate an essay that has a solid thesis, support that thesis with well-written paragraphs, and be able to express yourself adequately. Finally, there will be severe deductions for each run-on and/or fragment. Revise carefully
