PROJECT ANALYSIS
You have been hired by Participatory Development International (PAI), an international consultancy firm, to form part of an advisory team – assigned to review – an evaluation/review of a selected project – and to make recommendations to strengthen project management for future funding.
Your assignment is to work to expeditiously review the assigned project evaluation/review documentation/document (including identifying and reviewing ant additional relevant documentation that you might find relevant) and, using your newly developed project management knowledge and skills to: identify key problem areas, and make recommendations to improve project/program implementation – AND – identify any best practices, that might be shared with/within the organization, and shared externally (to/among other/external organizations, as well).
Your task is to only focus on the following aspects of the project:
Ø Monitoring and Evaluation (systems in place to generate information and track progress);
Ø End of Project (exit or transition plan in place)
You should identify the key issues/concerns raised in the evaluation report (and possible best practices) and consider ways to improve performance for the two aspects.
please review the project evaluation prepare a two page consultancy report (professionally presented and formatted). The report should use 1.5 spacing and 12 font, use correct citations/referencing, include a list of all sources/references consulted, clearly label any maps or diagrams, include page numbers and a title page – with the name of the project. The report should ‘PROFESSIONAL’ = complete, coherent and error free!
Note:
I have read through a little bit of it and here some things that I found on M&E and End of Project plan issues:
- Project goals and deliverables should be verified with the donors and stakeholders as being accomplished – in this case the project objectives were not accomplished by the time of the project end
- A transition plan was not put in place – we recommend the project be extended (time) so that the project goals can be accomplished and a proper exit can be put in place for sustainable social change
- An idea for a recommendation would be to make sure that by the end of project all laborers who lost jobs in the traditional brick industry have found (with assistance) new employment
