Describe one or two connections between the content of the videos

In your post this week, describe one or two connections between the content of the videos and/or readings and your own teaching practice.  Are there letter or phonemic activities you have done that are either similar or different than what you encountered in this module? What about book reading or interactive writing that supports concepts of print or early writing?  If you are not currently in a classroom or center, you can write about either previous instructional strategies you have done or seen, either as a teacher or a parent.

In general your post should roughly be 5-7 sentences min.
CONCEPTS OF PRINT
Early reading skills are, of course, more than just about knowing sounds and letter.  The interactions very young children have with books at the earliest age set the stage for lots of understandings about reading that have nothing to do with the words on the page.
This is an informational page that has to do with the Concepts of Print.  There are a number of concepts of print assessments but one of the most widely used is the “Concepts of Print” sub-test from the Observation Survey developed by Marie Clay of New Zealand. Should you already know this assessment you are welcome to move on to the next page. If not, just click on the following forms  part 1

which show the directions for giving this assessment and then watch a minute or two of the following video. (Notice that the book the student is reading is created specifically for this assessment).
