Assess the prevalence of substance use among older adults in nursing home or assisted living facilities. Students are to interview a human service provider/social work at a nursing home or assisted living facility in their community. Students are to assess the factors influencing substance use in this population, the types of substances this population tend to use, the prevalence in the center, how does the nursing home/assisted living facility address accommodations (refer else where, offer assistance, etc.), what are their policies on patient substance use, what are the risk factors in housing elders with substance use issues, and assess treatment for substance use with this population.

Make sure to use academic sources (i.e. your book and/or scholarly articles) in writing your paper and include proper APA citations and references, title page, abstract, headings, and reference page. Students are required to use at least three sources to cite information discussed in research papers.
