For this assignment, you will work with an argument used in connection with one of cases 2 to 6 discussed in “Sexuality and the Concept of Using Another Person” by Thomas Mappes ( READING PDF IN FILES). goal is to apply the argument you select to a different case – one unrelated to sexual morality (choose a different kind of topic!).

In your initial post, come up with an original case that supposedly involves one person “using” another. This case should have some important and relevant similarity to case 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 in the Mappes article. The new case can be inspired something you read about, experienced (first- or secondhand), or imagined. It should pose a moral problem in the spirit of those cases in the reading. Describe this case in your post. You should not address the case, however. That will be a task for classmates. Initial posts are due on Tuedsay, July 6, before midnight.

In the next stage, you will respond to two of your classmates’ posts. You should do two things:

Explain whether you agree with that way of addressing it. If you agree, explain why. If you don’t agree, tell why you think a different answer to the moral problem is warranted.
