Servant Leadership

Servant Leadership

Servant leadership is about being a servant first, putting the needs and concerns of followers before your own (Greenleaf, 2002). The final project is designed to give you the opportunity to help others become servant leaders by developing a how-to guide for servant leadership. This guide would assist someone embarking on a quest to become a servant leader. Most of the information available about servant leadership is theoretical (Northouse, 2016). Your guide will provide a practical compendium of research-based actions for novice servant leaders to implement.

For this project, you will be expected to:

  • Analyze the current research and theoretical foundations of servant leadership;
  • Apply the concepts of servant leadership to the development of a how-to guide;
  • Synthesize the course material into a practical guide about servant leadership and,
  • Develop a set of resources related to servant leadership.

Your leadership theory should address the following sections.

  1. Background and Overview: definition of servant leadership and how the concept compares to other leadership models; history of the concept
  2. Examples of Servant Leadership: people and organizations that exemplify servant leadership (you can use assignments from Weeks 3, 4, and 5 in this section, if desired) You may also include quotations that are representative of the servant leadership philosophy (from individual research, not course content)
  3. Action Steps: a suggested, specific path for what to do i to become a servant leader; include how to incorporate servant leadership into daily and professional life
  4. Justification: explain the rationale for servant leadership as a desirable leadership approach

Resources: provide at least five resources that an individual could explore for additional information about servant leadership; include a variety of sources such as books, articles, websites, and videos or audio recordings with a brief explanation of each resource and the information it provides

  1. Conclusion
  2. References

Format: Your guide should not exceed 15 – 20 pages, not including the title page and references. A table of contents and abstract are not required. Incorporate at least five research sources into the guide, all cited in APA style.

I am attaching weeks 3,4,and 5 papers that need to be included in this section,

  1. Examples of Servant Leadership: people and organizations that exemplify servant leadership (you can use assignments from Weeks 3, 4, and 5 in this section, if desired) You may also include quotations that are representative of the servant leadership philosophy (from individual research, not course content.
