The areas listed above should be the focus of your choice of a much narrower topic. You will need to study the historical context in which the prophet functions. This requires as a first step the careful reading of the text, along with good footnotes and references to Interpreters’ tools. You may make use of the methods of analysis as described in the Carvalho text and might also consult Biblical Dictionaries.
Your paper should be thesis driven. Since it will be a shorter paper, the thesis should be obvious upfront. Subsequent paragraphs should develop your ideas with support from biblical tools and references to the texts. You may develop your own ideas, especially relating to any contemporary applications, but your paper should reflect careful examination of the texts.
The paper should be double – spaced, about four pages. Citations should follow MLA guidelines.
