In this 4-5 page paper, students will analyze economic or political conditions in a
country of their choosing using a concept, theme, or theory presented in the course.
For example, you might analyze state capacity in Afghanistan, the backsliding of
democracy in Venezuela, or Vietnam’s transition to a market-based economy. You
will then analyze two current events as they relate to your previous discussion.
