13.3 Reader Response to Any Text you’re familar with that deals with mind-reading

Please note a change in the the way this Reader Response is organized!

For those who start a fresh thread: Introduce a text from popular culture, where one gains access to the thoughts of others, and use it to address the following questions:

  • What genre does the text fit into?
  • What would you say it says (what commentary does it make) about our contemporary society or culture?

When answering these, think about using full paragraphs, and quoting passages from the text that comes to mind that help support your thoughts.

If you want, you can incorporate your own response to the reading in response to someone else, which means not everyone has to start off with those initial questions. Doing this might make this more of a conversation with exchanges of ideas. Please make your first post by Thursday, and follow up in another thread by the end of Sunday. Both posts should make it clear what you’re responding to, specifically, and be in full paragraphs.

The Reader Response will be graded by a simple rubric you can see here, and must be done by the time we review the piece in class. Consider how you might use the Reader Responses to advance your work on the papers we’re working on.
