an analysis of an African originated spiritual system found within the African diaspora
a critical analysis and review of Olupona, Jacob K. African religions: A very short introduction. Oxford University Press, 2014
a critical review and analysis of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
For all three of the possible final paper options you are expected to complete a 10-page paper that includes engagement with our course material, along with credible (scholarly/peer-reviewed) sources to support your conclusions. Each paper must include the basic structural components of college-level writing that I have stressed over the course of the semester: contextualizing introduction, support of arguments with proper citations, fluid movement through various topics and a conclusion that brings the reader home. First-person is ONLY accepted in the conclusion of the essay. It is here where you are able to reflect upon your understanding of the area of research/topic and your own personal perception, comprehension and evaluation of this topic has changed and/or developed during the course of this assignment.
Details specific to each assignment will be discussed in class on Monday, November 21, 2022 and I will gladly meet with students one-on-one during my office hours to discuss any questions/concerns.
