Exporting Situation Analysis
This assignment is similar to a project that would be assigned to a marketer in an exporting firm. The objective is to plan for the exporting of a local firm’s product to an emerging country.
For this assignment, choose any business-to-consumer product marketed by a local or regional company to export into an emerging country to which it does not currently export.
In a paper (750-1,000 words), address the following:
- Situation Analysis: The focus of this section is to provide a situation analysis to help the reader understand the company’s market objectives and choice of country. This is the research portion, so documentation of research results and citation of sources are critical. This part will include: company selection (including description, mission/objectives, and global marketing strategies) and country selection, including attractiveness compared to alternative countries (use two or three other countries); evaluation, including demographic and cultural description; and economic analysis (balance of payments, trade analyses, regulations, etc.).
- Executive Briefing: Explain how to enter the market and what the company will do when it arrives.
This assignment will require a substantial amount of research, using a number of resources, including the Internet (but not exclusively). At a minimum, plan on citing six sources.
Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
