We have already explored the idea of God and saw the necessity of the idea for humanity.  We saw that there are several notions of God, or how different people conceive God.  Yet, the idea persists to the point that it is commonly a thematic representation in literature.   For this module, we shall look at Shakespeare’s Hamlet and explore his idea of God.  We are not going to read the play traditionally by looking at plots and exploring themes and motifs.  We shall focus just on representation of an idea—to see if the representation matches the prevailing idea of God at the time.  Since we are studying a literary text, using textual support as evidence is paramount in this discussion.
