You will write a formal literary (research) essay comparing the ISU novel that you chose to some other literary work. For this assignment, a film is an acceptable medium for comparison. You will develop your own topic as you establish elements of comparison, and then create an original thesis. You are invited to do research and include outside sources and scholarly commentary (Literary Criticism) in your essay; however, you must cite all material that is not your own using proper MLA Format.
For this assignment, I am looking for a refined, specific thesis; avoid something broad and obvious. (approximately 4-5 pages typed double-spaced )
